interesting read... they must be super adept at determining their relative orientation to the sun and stars and other earth born natural clues maybe that give away cardinal direction to the point of an internal compass with out 24/7 conscious thought... maybe like a pigeon or migratory bird...

I'd hire these guys for the crew

I can relate

My community is one where direction is a fact of life. Nearly all roads run on section lines, basically N-S or E-W, providing a simple reference system. Directions are provided in mile increments of so far N or S then so far E or W then so far N or S........... Nearly all structures are oriented parallel or perpendicular to their access roads, hence, N-S or E-W. I suppose this is why much of the Midwest is considered "square".
