Good afternoon all. With Wendell's permission, I'm posting about a fundraiser I'm paticipating in this coming weekend for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event raises money for the treatment of people with the disease, as well as research for a cure and advocacy for the cause.
I have a couple friends that live with MS and I'm very thankful that I have my health and am able to ride in this event for their benefit. The event is a 150 mile bike ride over two days that starts in Boston and ends in Provincetown Massachusetts. Over 2000 cyclists ride in the event and our goal is 2.5 million dollars.
Registration fees are covered by the participants so any donations go 100% to the National MS Society. I'm close to my fundraising goal and, if anyone is willing, humbly ask for any donations that you may consider. It doesnt take a lot, $10, $5, it all adds up and I would be very grateful for anything you would be willing to give. With reduced goverment funding, voluntary donations like these become more and more important to keep research moving forward. I've ridden in this event 5 times, and have recieved over $3000 in past donations, for which I am very grateful!!!
Here's the link.
I train yearly for this event and alreay have about 700 miles in so far this season so hopefully the weather cooperates and things go well over the weekend.
Thanks for reading and thank you in advance for any donations.
