I just recently started using MSO for email. I have used it before and no problems. Now, after setting the parameters for receiving emails from another account I have run into some aggravating problems.

While opening the program the bottom pane is trying to send messages 1-4 at first....and at times 1-33. There are no emails in my outbox. I opened my other email program (while MSO is closed) and have received "Read" Messages from months ago just now being sent to me. They were sent to me soon after I sent them the first time. It's as though there is something set wrong with the smtp (out going server)or the pop3 (incoming mail server). I've run AVG virus scan and no problems have popped up.

Any ideas on what I may have screwed up?

Thanks

How many email accounts do you have setup in Outlook? More than one? What exactly are your pop settings? What you are describing when old emails show up in a new pop client is usually what happens when someone sets up their pop email to leave messages on the server. See the link below. I can't think off hand why it is trying to send emails you say don't exist, other than you have multiple accounts that you have mistakenly tried to send email from. Why have you switched email software programs multiple times?

Go to Tools
Highlight an email address
Click on Change
More Settings
Advanced
Uncheck leave messages on server

If you have more than one email account, repeat as needed.
