Very good movie. Very intense and based on a true story. I doubt some of the tight timings that happened in the movie were true, but still very good, nonetheless.

If you want to know more about it, here's an article from Wired Magazine that spells out the details is a semi-dry but more accurate telling than the movie.

Overall, I'd give it about a 4 out of 5 thumbs up... 😉

We saw it this afternoon and is very good.

Might question some of the facts as there is a difference in what people remember on President Carter's failed mission and the fact that the hostages was released shortly after President Reagan was sworn in?

But Hollywood made a good movie.

I've seen several documentaries from the real folks that were there and the operators that made it happen. I'll have to wait judgement on the movie to see how it fairs against the facts.
I was about 20 during the Carter v. Reagan years/election. I don't recall if I voted or not. I remember thinking not well of either. A peanut farmer vs. a B-movie actor.. and we have a hundred something hostages?
If I do recall, the day Reagan was sworn in the hostages were released within minutes. I think they scared of him. But, they could run rough shod over Carter - which they did.
The documentaries were exciting enough and I hope they kept up with it for movie.

Have not seen the movie, but the book was excellent, a real page turner.

Uh, you might want to review your history notes Robert. The movie is set in 1979, during the Iran Hostage Crisis. You are thinking about a completely different set of circumstances.

😛
