I have an 1889 digital map in jpeg format that was evidently scanned in two parts and then combined into one image, but there is a gap down the middle. Can anyone cut them apart and then merge them together without losing resolution? The map is just over 7MB. One section of the map is shown below showing the gap that runs through the entire map.

I just took your image in MS Paint and cut and paste the right side of the image to match the left side of the image.
