This is a 12" sliding, dual bevel, compound miter saw.

Wife got a new LG range which cost more than twice as much so fair is fair, right?

I think this saw will silence the table saw a lot of the time. I have a super fine 10" 80 tooth blade (DeWalt) for the table saw which is a joy to use, smooth, sharp and makes a nearly perfectly smooth cut. A friend told me the stock Makita blade is excellent already.

I have a 7-1/4" Makita worm drive which is a very smooth saw.

My current compound miter saw is a cheap 10" Ryobi which works but it is difficult and time consuming to use accurately.

Dave,

I remember reading a review of 12" sliding miter saws, and
this Makita was one of the highest rated. I, too have a
10" Ryobi non slider and no compounding. Someday, I'll
get one of the Makitas. I have multiple Makita cordless drills,
a Makita corded "sawzall" and a "L" head grinder.
They make a great, reliable product.
BTW, the best blade I have found for my 10" Unisaw is a
Forrest full kerf 40 tooth ATB - makes great rips and crosscuts.
No sanding is needed prior to gluing.

BTW, I was disappointed that I didn't get to meet you at
the Jeff Lucas seminar in Concord in May, what happened?

Scott

We got dispatched to a fire incident to map and scan the origin. I was really disappointed that I had to miss the seminar which I paid for.

I was thinking about the same thing. I asked my wife. No, you can't get the saw because of the Range. It don't work that way. Good luck. Maybe you could ask your daughters....?
