I've been around Eureka Springs plenty in the past and Natchitoches and Staunton.
Downtown Staunton was always an overnight or rest stop when traveling from NY/NJ area to Louisiana or vice versa.
Eureka is a special type of place. It attracts summer tourists that swarm some parts of the Ozarks. So the other months it very nice.
Natchitiches is home to the Louisiana High School of Math and Science that is a scholarship boarding school for gifted students. . Also located there is Northwestern Louisiana University and the Louisiana Meat Pie Festival. LA meat pie is basically a spicy beef empanadas.
