This seems surreal.

Lightning has struck trees, satellite dish and metal chairs in my yard before and none of them blew up like that.
The trees eventually died, the dish elrctronics fried and the chair lost all tensile strength and folded up next time sat on and rusted away very quickly.
Lightning rods save your stuff and they also attract lightning.
