Considering purchase of new (to me) robot. Don't want to buy one that can't be repaired if necessary. I seem to recall reading that the Geomax robots were just rebranded 1200s. Is that true, and, if so, can those parts be used to repair 1200 series instruments?

Thanks!

The TPS1200 Series have reached end of life however many of the parts are still available in inventory or as a part for the TS12, which is the most updated edition of the TPS1200. There may be some odd-colored parts that can interchange from the Geomax but for the most part, these items are still available in green via the TS12.

Parts that I would be worried about is the EDM, ATR and CPU Board. There are many used parts out there for them, maybe even some new parts as well though. The TPS1200 is a great instrument. Spend the money to have it throughly checked through a good Leica Service Center. They should be able to give you the Calibration reports for you to look at.

Best of luck to you...
