First US program that I have enjoyed since 3 stooges.
Plenty of passive science!

I've seen parts of one episode and never really cared for it.
I've caught a few shows of "Sons of Anarchy" and that [to me] is borderline soft porn.
It's kind of sad you exposure to US tv had to be that one.
Never heard of it. Hows about a synopsis?
I think the cable channels are knocking it out of the park. The Wire was the best tv ever made imho. We're into the second season of Dexter now, just great. We use Netflix to get them. Pretty good deal when you stream via PS3.
Son's of Anarchy? My wife likes it. To me it's Day's of our Lives...with bikers. Not a good combo.

That's one more than me Richard!! But, to be honest, I have really wanted to see the show, but since I didn't start at the beginning, I don't like to jump into the middle. If it's a really snowy winter, I'll make a posting on Facebook about borrowing the season 1 box set... and then season 2...
It's won some awards, so you can't really knock it too much.

I agree.
The show that surprised me this year is The Walking Dead on AMC. It has turned out to be a great show.

JB,
I was a BIG fan of "Homicide: Life on the Street", which was done by the guy (Ed Burns) that did "The Wire". I am just now catching the first few seasons of "The Wire" on DirecTV's 101 channel. "Dexter" is good, but I just cannot get locked into it for some reason. I'm also a fan of "Southland" on TNT. It will be returning in January. It's not as gritty as the other two cop shows, but I still give it high marks.

I watched about two episodes of Sons of Anarchy, realized the storyline was basically "Hamlet in leather jackets" and lost interest.
It's not as good as it was the first few years, but for me this was the best cable drama series in recent years:

While set in NYC after 9/11, Leary first came up with the idea for a series about firefighters after the Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse fire in his hometown where he grew up with two of the six firefighters that were killed.
As for comedy, you can't beat:

Just watched a second episode of Breaking Bad. Carl
The old school science teacher is a great actor.
The show is on free to air here by our National Broadcaster late time viewing because of mature content.
Lots of dark humour.
Apparently filmed in New Mexico.

I agree wholeheartedley. Rescue me also. Next season is the final season, supposedley final episode on the 10 yr anniversary of 9/11.
Ever notice how Tommy gets all the girls? Must be good to write your own script eh?

Hate to break it to ya, but from my experience the truth is heaving drinking, sarcastic guys of Irish-American descent DO get all the girls. 😉

Have not seen any of them. More of a discovery channel watcher along with the history channel and military. Enjoy mega movers and ice road truckers along with the commercial fishing shows. Some of the Ice Road people are in India right now and I watch them, learned a different way of getting rocks out from between duel tires and I will check the oil level in a new hydraulic jack before tossing it off of a bridge.
