So as not to further pollute the rude loan person thread.....
In my last "real" software engineering job I had about 10 or so different trade magazine subscriptions. I was constantly getting all kinds of junk things. As a test, for a full year I put all those pieces in a big box just to see how much I would get in a year. At the end of the year the box was so heavy that 2 of us could not pick it up. It took me a number of loads in smaller boxes to empty it. Needless to say I didn't run the test ever again.
Nowadays all I get is a few sale papers a week - which immediately go to the garbage buggy - and the occasional AARP crap. The AARP stuff goes to the shredder since some regard pre-approved credit and insurance stuff.
I remember getting one of those junk mails for a correspondence
course. It cost me $100. Next weekend while surveyors attended
a $200 seminar, I took the family to the county fair. I asked
a surveyor at the next chapter meeting what he learned. He said
nothing.
i know of a few folks who will rip up the junk letters, stuff them in the envelope and send them back in. the company has to pay for the stamp.

I heard of one guy attaching a brick to the return envelope. 😛
