One monument I had set and went to remark some 12 yrs later was in the middle of where a log truck operator chose to change the fluids in his equipment.

There was a great collection of hydrolic oil, motor oil and air filters that almost brought me to call the hazard waste management office. I just simply did not want to get myself dead.

It was reported to me that a decidedly old school construction company owner remarked that he'd rather his daughter be a whore than his son be a truck driver.

I don't like it, but I can deal with lawn clippings dumped along boundary lines. What drives me nuts is working around poor neighborhoods and having to search through rotten mattresses and junk appliances.?ÿ

I can vividly recall the increase of illigal dumping when the town of Fryeburg Maine decided to start charging $20 per appliance at the landfill. Most landfills lose money on their "free" recycling and yet charge people to dump batteries, tires, appliances etc.. Seems kind of foolish to me.?ÿ

Our county had a recycling facility that was one of the best things that ever happend with waste management in the area.

As expected, the county hired a defunt and defeated elected official to run the place that soon became an inside disposal unit for a selected few companies that turned the place into a stockpile of material that was not recyleable and made the place a fire hazard because it was 90% paper and 10% glue infused wood pulp that were basic wood pellets the size of a plate.

All the money coming in was mostly pocketed by the manager and the county had four inmates working their to one actual paid employee.

After an inmate lost his legs due to insufficient safety equipment being installed, the place was shut down because there was no insurance coverage to be found for inmate labor in the county's insurance policies.

It was a shame because when seperating home garbage into recylable bins there was no cost to take them to the plant.

$30 per month garbage fees is way too much when I may have 6 33gal bags of trash a month and if left on the curb loose critters have it scattered across the neighborhood by pickup time.
