Anybody here ever been to Ireland? Me and the SWMBO are thinking about heading there.

If you've been any suggestions? What to see....what to avoid?

I don't think we wanna do a bus tour, we'd rather be own our own.

Neither of us have ever been there before. So its all new.

TIA

Be very careful on your selection of clothing colors. Bright orange in the wrong neighborhood could be a very bad idea.

Jered McGrath, who posts here occasionally, just got back from there not too long ago.

I believe Mike Berry went there recently. He often posts on here.

Paul the Irishman has returned to OZ and is working in Western Australia. Will PM him to read your thread as he will have many contacts...

What do you like to be entertained by? Scenery, history, adventure, what's different in ordinary people's lives (one of my brother's favorites), music, other culture?

Really? When did that happen?
I was wondering what he has been up to just the other day.
I haven't heard from him in a long time.

Eric,

Paul has been back in OZ for over a year because surveying work in Ireland evaporated overnight . I had told him about Western Australia mining industry screaming out for surveyors in the NW. He recently brought out his Irish wife and family who are now living in Perth and has also changed employer according to LinkedIn, but still has a fly-in fly-out job in mining area.

Hope all is well with you ! Are you back in the work arena?

Don't know any specifics about where to go or what to see.

But, for the first time in about 240 years I have cousins on my paternal grandmother's side who were actually born in Ireland. The O'Hairs have returned.B-)
