Being a novice at all things reptilian, was that a display of dominance or mating? How many were there, at times it looked like there could have been three or four? How close were you, especially at the end when they were near the truck? I'm assuming they were rattlers based on the location, but couldn't tell because of the not great resolution, how big were they?
Not a fan of snakes, but kinda cool, at least they can't bite through the screen.
OK just saw the post about the drone, that answered some of it.
They were what I call prairie racers, I have also seen them called coachwhips. There were two. I was about 18-20 feet away, and part of the resolution problem is I did have the camera on zoom, because they were hard to see. But I didn't want to disturb them. I think they were mating, but I am not a snake person, so they maybe were just fighting, I dunno. They did get closer to me, but no closer than about 12 feet, thats when the one raced under the truck. The one that stayed, at the end, he/she/it kept an eye on me with his head raised for about 30 seconds, and I decided that was long enough. I threw a rock at it, and off it went into the brush. I had never seen this behavior before, and thought it worth sharing, even if the image wasn't as clear as I had hoped.

Those are hoop snakes. You are lucky they didn't grab ahold of their tails and start rolling after you!
