Here's 4 weeks of progress on my spec house (working alone and all hand-nailing).
Everything except the OSB walls & floor was cut on our land and sawn on my mill.
Perry,
That is awesome. Congratulations. Looks like you are making some great progress.
Looking forward to the day when I purchase some land and start planning our new home. It will be a few more years down the road.

Wow now that is a masterpiece in the making!! Great job, Perry!! Please post pics as you go along. It's very interesting to watch your progress and see the outcome. 🙂
Nice Perry, but I am surprised that you didn't use boards on your sheathing and roof? And no nail gun? Watch out for "framers elbow". 🙂

I am using boards to sheath the roof, but the 4x8 sheets of OSB are a fast and economical way to stiffen up (and square up) the building and reduce the air infiltration (wall) and the Advantek T&G Flooring is less prone to squeaks.
Yea, I shouldn't have included the roof. Nice walk out basement. Is the building facing true south?
Don't forget to wrap it in Tyvek (sp?) before the siding goes on. That'll help keep out the cold drafts on those cold nights.

I'm still trying to figure out what benefit the expense of using Tyvec or Typar will give me. I can understand how it would help if I was sheathing with boards, but all the edges of the OSB are designed to nail directly to a wall stud or plate. How much wind will get through a sheet of OSB? The sheathing also be covered with 1x8 shiplap double clapboards, which will further reduce any drafts.
I'm thinking of just caulking around the bottom of the OSB sheathing and around the windows & doors and calling it good.
TYVEC/TYPAR
Depending on your humidity.... moisture barrier as well as drafts.

If you use the Tyvek, etc. make sure you include the gable ends.
