About a mile or so from my house in the little town of Marion, Tx, outside of San Antonio, I noticed a new house being started a few weeks ago- forms, plumbing, slab..
Then, last friday, there were probably about a hundred vehicles parked in the subdivision. I compared it to the tv show Extreme Home addition or whatever it is called.
I dont know how the program works, but this soldier had both his legs blown off...
by friday afternoon the house looked like this..
last night the house looked like this- roofed, rock being put on the outside.. 5 days after the first wall was put up.
Amazing what a few hundred people and a coordinated effort can do.
With my father having served for 22 years in the service, I appreciate those here who have served and those who are serving...
This organization was highlighted on one of the recent Extreme Home Makeover shows. Both of these groups are just awesome. The good that they do is beyond compare. I do not know who is behind the TV show or the other group, but I do know there is a special place in the hereafter for folks like this. People helping people is the real path to happiness, but these guys have turned that path into a four lane super highway. May their efforts be blessed an may they continue in their good works. It's good to see the Good Guys win for a change!!
Can I hitch a ride of agreement with your post cptdent? You said it well.

A nearby American Legion post is hosting a huge tractorcade the next weekend after Labor Day Weekend. All monies raised will be sent to this very program. My primary involvement will be as coordinator for the lunch that is to be served to participants at the midpoint of their tractor traverse.
Have worked along side Hardin Const. several times, primarily either condos or industrial, class act all the way and just went up several notches in my book.
