I call my best friend's father every year after I speak with my father. And I let my dad tell me all the things I still have yet to learn about his life and history at this point in life.
My best friend Katsu died in 2007, and his dad is just as deserving of the call now even more as he provided a conduit for the people who knew his son, and lost him together.
