I normally could care less about this stuff. I'm a Tech fan - because of the school, not because of sports. Apparently there is quite the rivalry between these two. I'll take my PhD from GA Tech any day over UGA.
The famed rival game has been advertised on the radio all the past week. I just happened to catch the last couple minutes of play yesterday. UGA scores to take the lead with 18 secs left. Announcer on the radio is screaming about "Dogs win!". I got tired of his gas immediately and shut it off.
Well, apparently "Mr. Gas" should have shut his gab.
My father graduated from there and my son is a sophomore. Great game and I will be watching them beat Florida State live on Saturday in Charlotte for the ACC title!
I just heard on the morning radio news this was first ever over time game at Sanford Stadium.
I still say, take off all helmets and pads and play rugby or Aussie-rules football. That'll put some humility up their show-boating assssses.
Tech out played and definitely out Coached us. They won fair and square. As much as I hate the fact Tech won, I will root for them against Fla. State. Being a UGA fan does not always mean you are a Tech hater. When you consider Tech's academic requirements, facilities, and an offensive scheme that most top prospects will avoid, they get a lot of bang for their buck. Hope they enjoy their only defeat of UGA for several decades to come.
I've been to a game at UGA. Nothing but a big giant party.
