There is some debate as to which episode was the actual pilot of?ÿPerry Mason. TCOT Fan Dancers Horse?ÿalso features a short haired Perry in hat. He has a car in that episode. Judy Tyler, the titular fan dancer, was killed in a car accident before it aired. Perhaps for that reason it was the 15th episode to air.

Had never heard of Judy Tyler so looked her up on IMDB.?ÿ Turns out she was Princess Summerfall Winterspring on The Howdy Doody Show from 1950-1953.?ÿ We didn't even have a local TV station until December 1953 and we didn't have a TV in our house until 1958, so I only saw that show in reruns.
