To spend a spring or summer Friday evening than at a minor league baseball game. Just saw a kid celebrate his seventh birthday by throwing out the first pitch

Now back to my

No kidding!!! A good night at any ball park is great. Beit major league, minors, AAA, farm team, et.al. Especially with a frosty- at the ready.
When I lived in western NC, the Asheville Tourists were always a popular draw. Especially after that time the coach made a complete idiot of himself. That was all over the news and went viral. I'm sure someone can look it up. I never got to see a game but worked all around the area. Looked like a nice park from the outside and on a couple of jobs I was able to peer through the gun down inside. Looked like a good place to me.

When I was a wee kid around 8 years old (circa 67-68), Dad used to take us to a park in Danville, IL that had a minor league team. The park wasn't much that I remember - but hey, baseball is baseball!!!

Guess I won't get to see a game in person until the Braves get their new stadium built and opened.

I don't know... Sounds great. This evening I spent about an hour working a great 4 year old gelding in the arena, prepping him for moving a few cows and calves tomorrow, with my wonderful wife Kelly Jo reading a book by the arena and handing me a cold beer when I needed it. It doesn't get much better than that!

Watching the Rockies now, and just told Kelly Jo sometime this summer we may be going to Denver to watch our first pro-baseball game in person. Believe it or not, she was interested........... 😀

We usually take in a couple of Sacramento Rivercats (the A's AAA team) games each year, but we had to buy 10 vouchers (exchangeable for tickets) as a fundraiser for my son's high school team, and a colleague gave me a couple of tickets, so we'll be doing it a bit more often this season. When you throw in a little food it's not a particularly cheap outing, but still only about half the cost of a major league game even before you factor in transportation.

Single A

$9 general admission
$3 1/4 lb dogs
$9 32oz Sam's summer ale

Unfortunately nostalgic old ball parks don't make enough money, so the team is leaving in the next year or two for a new stadium in Fredericksburg VA

The Rivercats play the N.O. Zephyrs in Triple AAA.
I haven't been for a few years. Best seat in the place is $15. Decent seat for $7.50
Tickets are so inexpensive that sellers do not bother to use CL or stubhub
I checked and their is a big difference in cost from CA to LA. we must be po'folk down here.

Lance Berkmann came up through the Zephyrs.
Saw Ruben Sierra making his way back to the bigs after a serious injury. He went on to play with the Yanks etc.
