Where negative comments were made about OZ quality of life.
Just coincidentally published today by United Nations are the world's results for
QUALITY OF LIFE

Wow! Second is awesome!! :good:
You won't find me saying anything negative about Oz. The people there that I have known through the years have always been very kind and giving, plus they got great candy!! (YUMMM!!! CHERRY RIPES!!) I so want to visit there...someday. I might even be able to drag Wendell along! :hi5:
Actually, I shouldn't say anything negative cause there are a few things I don't like. Nutella and Vegemite. YECK!!! :-X
I wouldn't mind checking it out if it wasn't so far away. And, we had a friend that went down there and when she came back she couldn't stop saying "Good on ya" and "G'day Mate" and such. Behind her back, people were pretending to barf. It was pretty sad.;-)
Somebody commented that they wouldn't visit Oz no way because of the government stranglehold on its people.....
what does that have to do with travel was my first question... I don't agree with communism or dictatorial governments ideology but I never let that stop me from visiting those countries....
Norway always seems to top the list in quality of life, happiest people,..the most free country, etc...
Daryl,
My sister in-law lives in Trondheim.
Was there in the nineties.
They burn their rubbish and heat the water that then circulates through the city for heating.
Had the nicest ever Atlantic Salmon home pan fried in butter and freshly cracked pepper that we purchased from the fisher's wharf.

Sorry if you took exception to my opinion of your Gov't. RADU, but as bad as the US gov't. is currently, we have more freedom than you do and I have no intent of subjecting myself to a gov't. as restrictive as yours.
Not so fast there, Stephen.
I've never traveled to Australia, but have worked with Aussies a few times over the years. They are some of the most independent minded people I've known, and their actions speak louder than rhetoric. Perhaps it is only because they were from a well educated class with a willingness to travel, and was more personality than nationality.
Not a Dundee in the bunch, but nonetheless folks with a unique mindset, hardly a downtrodden nationality. They are both trusting and nobody's fool, very opinionated for the most part, and fiercely loyal to their country, not to mention their footie team.
Work with a few Eastern Europeans, specifically Romanians, and you will see the mindset of people from a restrictive government. Even the friendly ones are skittish, and trust does not come easily.
Two friends of mine lived in Australia for a year, there on a work visa, and both wished they could've stayed longer.
Australia.
I've always dreamed about living in Australia.
It would be a perfect fit for me, because I enjoy the isolated wilderness.
BUT, I've seen on TV, you have crocodiles jumping up out of the water to snatch people! :-O What's up with that?
How can you enjoy a day on the river when you're worried about getting eaten? I'll just stick with our relatively passive alligators.
Good day.
(Hitting the river in T minus 2.5 hours and counting. Have a good weekend)
