My version of ZoneAlarm stopped working yesterday. I uninstalled it and enabled the MS firewall for a short time. I'm in need of a firewall. I run XP Pro. What do Ya'll recommend. What works?

I haven't run XP for ages, but when I did, I swore by PCTools Firewall.
ZoneAlarm is still working on my XP machine. Was the problem triggered by an update? Have you tried a fresh install of ZA?

I got busy. Still haven't installed a firewall yet.
I don't know what happened? Last week I started noticing when turning the computer off I got a message ZoneAlarm was not ending. So I chose to end now. Then I tried to inter or run ZoneAlarm and the program would not open. A sure sign that something was not working right. Beats Me!

Might be worth the time to check your machine for viruses or malware. I've had both disable my anti-virus and MS built-in firewall in the past.
Nope! Clean as of now. Ran Malwarebytes, Advast, and Hitman Pro.
