I trust that you would find this type of garbage...rather.... distasteful. But then it did come from a facebook descendant. Maybe it's time to re-de-activate the account (what was I thinking).

Funny. I never get that from any facebookers. So again, someone you know must have thought this was high intellect. It says nothing about facebook but rather tons about the people you associate with.
Heck, even the mystery people that want to friend me don't use such language. Guess I must just be boring. Or maybe it is that I fire "friends" who use any bad language and do not accept friend requests from anyone that I do not personally know.

I do not associate with folks of that IQ. This was a message that seemed to be plastered with a boiler plate mentality. A message sent from an unknown wallowing in the depths of stupidity.
Facebook does have it's dark side. Dark side meaning anyone.....anyone can join...and the facebook masters will have some sort of forum for their taste and treat. I can assure you that I was not one of their applicants and/or descendent's.

Are you saying someone you don't know put that on your wall? if so, you need to adjust your privacy settings. Just like anything, it is what you make of it. I happen to love facebook, and use it to keep in touch with people across the world and across the street. I've never had anything happen to me like you describe.

With all due respect. I did not mean for this to become a argument between the two of us about facebook. There was not a request! It was simply a....ahhh...possible invitation. An invitation I am certainly not interested in. If I have perhaps stepped on your toes or insulted you then my apologies are in the open and for you to accept.

At this point I have realized that it's not what happened but how, who and where I described what happened. Yes, I also use FB to contact folks just liked you. I have realized in the past few minutes that maybe the problem is me and my attitude. Not FB and certainly not Georgia (and I hope I never implied such).
It is not that you insulted me, Craig
It is that I do not see Facebook as a waste of cyberspace. I think it is a tool. For me, and others, it is a tool that has been immensely helpful in restoring lost relationships. Thanks to Facebook, I found a cousin that I have never met, two other cousins that I have not seen in 20 years, and my niece who I have not seen or spoken to since my Dad died almost 15 years ago. It is a tool that has allowed me to see what is going on in the lives of friends who live three states away and a tool that lets me keep up with friends across town. Are there idiots out there who want to use it to lure you into P O R N or illegal/ illicit things? I would imagine so. But there are people just down the road a few miles who would do the same thing (strip clubs- no they are not gentlemens clubs no matter how much they try to claim that, but that is a different argument). I do not fault the machette that cut my hand open, it was me misusing a tool that caused the pain. Just so, I do not fault facebook for crap that people may try to send (such as the "girls" who want to be my friend) because I am a grown up and I can choose or not choose to do the right thing.

FB serves my purpose, but I agree with Craig that there are some pretty silly things going around on it.

And some of them are Mrs. Cow's students.
Last night she mentioned to me how stupid one of her students was. This high school boy had posted that a specific high school girl smelled like d***. He was insinuating that she had "known" several boys over the weekend. Guess who the next comment came from.....HER MOTHER!. She was a tad bit more than extremely upset with this fellow and his comment.

And that's the sad part. I'll bet she is a very capable/effective teacher. However, with todays breed it is more of a challenge for some students than others.

As far as the racist comment you made goes, it can stop here and go no further. Let's not go there. It was simple vent from me after a bad day. I think we all have them and are not deserving of any insinuations based on a ....well.....bad day or a comment made during a bad day.
