Steve, I don't know if my advice to ya would be to put down the guitar & Beam...or to pick 'em up more often!
about 10 years ago wife said, "Dave we need a new dishwasher."
I said, "no we don't, we have two right here in the house."
meaning daughters, she didn't think it was funny.
The dishwasher we purchased for that event eventually failed (plastic tub-I learned to get a steel tub after that) so now we have been hand washing dishes for the past several years.
See, I asked the guy at Best Buy what the disadvantage would be to buying the $229 model v. the $749 model and he mentioned the decibel level and the plastic v. the steel tub issue. The broken one we have now never seemed that loud and it has a plastic tub that is in fine shape even though the rest of the machine is toast.
The dishwashing machine repairman that we paid to tell us the dishwasher is not repairable told us, next time get a steel tub.
Rats had eaten a bunch of wires, $100's of dollars
first off get rid of the rats and whatever they are eating.
As far as the broken equipment I just went through a spell of broken equipment.. It must be curse the surveyors year:-(
