I know I am.

My boys are in town (been 4 months), a round of golf in the morning, lunch on the Lake and a dove hunt to end the day. Where I go it will just wear you and you shotgun out.

Janice is an expert Dove chef, so Saturday dinner will be a late one, but worth the wait.

Sunday, church and a hotshot back to the dove killing fields to top it off.

Only that can beat a wonderful week of nice cool weather surveying in the Texas Hill Country.

The proper way to prepare dove to ensure you have an edible meal is to soak the dove breasts in a light saltwater solution for 30 minutes. Add one maraschino cherry. Carefully remove the buckshot from each breast and return the meat to the bowl with the saltwater solution. Gather the buckshot for later reloading of more shells. Drain off the saltwater solution, toss the dove breasts to the dogs and cats, then eat the maraschino cherry.

lol

Actually, if you soak them in white milk for a few hours and then bread them like chicken, wrap in bacon, deep fry and enjoy.

Love to hunt them, but am having a hard time enjoying the spoils as I get older.

I've been told that what you mention is a good way to prepare dove. The key to success, however, is to toss the dove and eat the bacon.

White milk

Randy ...I like that ! Tis a dam shame that these days cows now only produce multi coloured, flavoured and already packaged with bar code...

I wish cows would go back to the good old days where they simply produce that hot creamy white milk....

The joke is that you pay more for fat free milk with the butter fat and cream removed than for old fashioned wholesome milk. Then the companies get a prime dollar for the cream! but that is another story.
