What struck me was the writer of the article feeling free to spell out the F-word and the s-word but a couple of words like "bullocks" had to be blanked out with asterisks. Obviously a big difference between what is vulgar in the US and what is vulgar in England.

I was reminded of a story I heard in an interview of Carlene Carter (daughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter). She said she was giving a big concert and didn't know her parents were in the audience when she said "If this song don’t put the **** back in country, I don’t know what will." (pronouncing 'country' without the 'ry'). One of her most embarrasing moments when her parents came back stage to say hi.

Of course if you're going to say something like that on stage in front of hundreds of people, you couldn't really be surprised if it got back to your parents.

Okay, I hope I didn't say anything bad....

'England and the US - two countries divided by a common language'

Mr Wilde sure had that right

Cant even agree on the spelling of some words

And then there's the rest of the colonies 🙂
