In the very early 70s we lived next door to Gordon Johncock (2 time Indy 500 winner). His wife, Faye, used to drag me around like her "little buddy". I would help her out around the house a lot. One night she threw a party. I met AJ Foyt, Al Unser Sr. & Jr. and a couple of other drivers I didn't know much about. Al Jr. crashed a mini-bike into a swing set in our backyard. Next day I was helping clean up afterwards. Faye had to run out for errands and left me to keep going. AJ Foyt called about 6 times while she was out. That was super cool to talk to one of my heros that much. Makes for quite the impression on an 11 year old!!
I spent the afternoon with Gavin McCloud (Capt. of the Love Boat). I took him to the airport. Super nice guy. Although he had a hat and sunglasses on in the airport, people recognized him as soon as they heard him say a word. I think he signed about a dozen autographs while we were there. I asked him if that didn't bother him. He was most humble about it and happy to sign.
I was a body guard for Red Skelton at a show at the university I was going to. Another super nice guy - and VERY tall.
I met Eddie Mecca (Carmine Ragusa from Laverne & Shirley) at a party at my Dad's house. Short stocky feller.
There are pictures of Leonard Nimoy and my brother playing basketball at our house. He was in town doing a play and made use of one of our cars.
I almost hit Gary Collins with my bike once. He was also in town for another play.
A former neighbor of mine was a road-manager for the Allman Bros.
He introduced me to Sonny Limbo who wrote that "Signs Signs Everywhere Signs" song. I used to help Sonny with computer issues a lot. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been on the phone with him.
I used to shoot pool a lot with Dan Stockton who was/is a stage manager for blues guitarist Tinsley Ellis.
A former girl friend brought over her "knew" boy friend once who turns out was a Buffalo Bills all-star of some sort. That guy was ENORMOUS and drank one of my beers in about 2 swallows.
I shook hands with Hulk Hogan once. That guy has hands the size of dinner plates!!
Lots of others I'm sure. There is live theater back and Dad was on the board. He often did the opening night party and/or closing night parties. I got volunteered as a part-time set carpenter and electician there one summer so lord knows who all I have crossed paths with during that time.
Do those all count? D-:

Doug use to follow us around (or we followed him around) from city to city, state to state. At one time we all lived in the same apartment complex! Those were the good ol' days. 🙂
