The OWM cranked up SW of Lawton and roared right up I-44 this evening. I just heard a report of over 6 inches of rain (in about 3 hours) in the Medicine Park area. That is a bunch of rain for up in those canyons...enough to float a Toyota or two.

If you know anybody up there you might want to catch up with them. Hope all is well.

Just saw this but I was in touch with folks back home last night. Looks like the Goodyear plant had some damage and lots of rain. Everyone I know though reported in and is okay. The same system will be hitting Kentucky sometime this evening and Nancy and I will be out chasing the storms.

We just completed our final Elite Storm Spotters certification from the NWS so we will aid in the ground truthing if there are any cells this evening.

Mind posting some photos or vids if you see any interesting weather?

Hopefully you are also trained as a first responder as well.

From the looks of those storm chaser videos, during twister season there are alot of people that may need help quicker than EMS can respond. Hate to witness carnage and not know how to help.

Yes, well trained as a first responder. Thanks to our Lawton Fire Department, the Boy Scouts of American and the Red Cross.
