dag gum, I forgot about those!! I used to catch that crap all the time when friends would find out I am from Illinois. Most don't understand how long IL is from north to south. I was born way down south IL. They just hear Illinois and assume Chicago-ahole - which most are. Then I have get into this argument about north and south. I would ask "Is Lousivelle, KY a yankee place?". Always the answer is no. Then I get out my maps to show that I was born farther south than Loui'ville. Then we have to bring up the accent I speak. Funny thing is those they don't know I am from IL just assume "I'm from 'round here" because I sound just them.

Thanks for that reference PL.
It brings back a nice funny memory of a survey that I was on in the mid 80's here in St. Tammany that was about genuine Southern hospitality. old folks living in a trailer on an old RR easement tract that they turned into a air strip. Gawd, it is such a good memory.
