It took me ten years to get used to saying the St Louis Rams, still not used to the Arizona Cardinals. At least back then it was always the St Louis Cardinals regardless of the season.
I remember seeing in a cartoon (Simpsons?) where someone was exiting a plane at LAX end there was a sign reading "Welcome to Los Angeles Home of the...Rams (crossed out)...Raiders (crossed out) and so forth.
