Industrial revolution going on in Mississippi
Dange, that looks like a damn good chicken plucker. Seems like it could pluck a chicken in no time flat, if handled properly. The question from me is this: will it thoroughly pluck a Canadian goose? Reason I aks is that I got three goose to pluck and very little pluckin' time to do it in. Do your Mississippi neighborhood boys also make a reasonably priced gooseplucker? If not, can you get the technical specs on that chickenplucker so that I can upgrade it to handle the odd goose? Or even the ones that ain't so odd.
Also got a couple of beaver i need to skin for beavertail soup. Any advice on that from you Mississippi beaver skinners? Am going with beavertail for New Year's this year, because the local muskrat tail ain't got no meat to speak of, and this time of year they're awful skinny and tough throughout.
Please advise. Thanks in advance,
BC

Hey Bill,
I don't know how the plucker works, I can only guess it happens with a repetitive "wizz" followed by a "bang"...honestly I shudder to think about the whole process. Probably requires 3 phase power as well. For the goose, I'd think (since there is a motor involved) you'd have to reduce the RPM of the "wizz" and probably skip at least 3 "bangs" per cycle.
As for the goose, my nephew up in East Glacier cooked a goose for Christmas. He said very little meat and a LOT of fat/drippings. My only other advice would be how to tell when the goose is done....you take a gander.
Strange thing is that the exact same picture was advertised on CL a week ago as a "Simpson County vibrating hot tub".
Beaver, got no clue. Better ask Dan McCabe about that one as it can't be much different than a Nutria.;-)
HAPPY NEW YEAR BRO BILL (and make sure you call spooky-ann for the Birthday Girl tomorrow!)
