I was watching TV this AM about 5:30 or so and up pops a story about a guy that has written a new app to help locate forest fires. I was really amazed when I saw it was Curt Busby of HP, Maptech, and XYZ Works software. I am pretty sure that Curt is on this board at times also.
I didn't realize that Curt had lost his house to a forest fire, sorry about that Curt must be a terrible experience.
Check it out.

Hi Tom, yes that is me. I am surprised it got on TV in MA, here is a link to the local story with video:
Man creates app to help firefighters find blazes
Some of you may be interested since it uses triangulation, and a few here may be old enough to have done some of that back in the day (for land surveying, not locating wild fires.)
What language(s) are you writing in?
I have done some minor stuff on the WinCE platform years ago.
I've been asked about writing some apps for the new phones but have no idea where to start. Hell, I don't even have a cell phone of any sort. All my work these days is in .NET 4.x mostly for web stuff but have written a number of regular Windows apps.

Language I use for android is java, and for windows and CE and PocketPC, its C code.
