After a "Spot" transmit debacle a month ago that inadvertently sent out a search helicopter I decided to upgrade to the new Spot Connect that basically turns your iPhone into a satellite messaging and emergency location beacon when outside of cell phone range. Works great... I highly recommend this tool for any surveyors working in remote locations. Can send custom text messages from practically anywhere on the planet...

From your previous posts it’s obvious you are a “pioneer surveyor”, and that certainly looks like a cool gadget and a possible life saver.
Me, however, won’t survey anything unless it’s on a paved road, has R/W centerline control, and a 7-11 within 1 mile. And no bears 😉
