But here in Central Mississippi this guy claims to have shot one.

Mangy coyote. Have seen plenty of them over the years.
Dave....love the avatar....was, for a year and a half, located within 1 minute of one...pretty darn good......
Yep, looks an awful lot like a mangy coyote. The supposed "Chupacabra" is supposed to have spines on its back.

Usually seen as the P and the W of the sign on the store tend to burn out first. Figure I will retire from our profession and work at the Piggly Wiggly in some capacity. Quite often I'll "quiz" the kids running the checkout stand with PW facts they should know...where was the first one, how many stores nowadays, stuff like that. They'll ask me how or why I know all this and I tell them I figure it should be on the job application.:-|
That's not el chupacabra. The guy's clearly never seen one...

I came to know the butcher quite well. He use to be a policeman....when he saw me in the isle he would already tell me if they had beef tenderloin to my satisfaction (he knew I would trim the fat off if he didn't). Clinton NC....pig country.
I guess I will ditto that CSS. Far as I know no one has seen one except for recent legend talk. I've heard about this creature for about 15 years or so. It supposedly has blood red eyes, sharp claws and a howl that supposedly will curdle your blood from fear.
From talking with my Hispanic friends, a Chupacabra is rather small reptile type creature that has glowing eyes, and lives off the blood of goats, and or just about anything else that turns up unexplainably dead.
Similar to our Big Foot in the sense that one has never actually been seen or captured.
