Can't you just go to POBonline and read the latest articles and go to the message board? I still get the tree-killing paper copy even though I told them months ago I was OK with the online version. I did get the Christmas Card though. I really don't get what their goal was with the new message board. It seems like they would care that very few people look at it if they're going to have it at all. (?)

the trade mags have really gotten boring in the past few years.

Occasionally there's a glimmer of their old selves but not often.

How many scanning articles or self-serving surveying firm articles or two page how to run a surveying business articles can I read and care.

Steve - Yes, I think the whole shootin' match is on-line, but I'm a dinosaur of the tactile reading material sort. I like flipping pages back to reread the last paragraph or article. Then again, with the small amount of survey related material in the magazine these days, I guess I could cut and paste to a document and then print that out for bed-side or throne-room reading.

Well, actually I guess I will have to resort to cut & paste unless I surrender my email address (which they already have, dammit) .

POB

Although the December Lucas article itself was boring, it did spawn some interesting threads here and on the Geospatial Forum over there. I even participated in the one on RPLS or whatever it's called now with MLB and it was almost cordial until Mr. Falk and Keith got into a squabble. WTF is up with that? I'd be embarrassed if anybody saw that petty bickering and thought that's what surveyors are like. Not that it doesn't happen here but it seems to be on a hair-trigger over there.
