So Angel can relax.

The Big Ticket tonight is watching Penn State 6-1 (3-0 Big 10) at Northwestern 2-4 (0-3 Big 10). Why?

Northwestern has a Heisman possible quarterback Dan Persa from local Liberty High School (Bethlehem PA, 10 miles away). I believe he currently has the highest passing percentage in the BCS. It will be a very good offense against a very good defense, Penn State is #6 in the BCS in points allowed.

Degense, defense, defense!

Penn State has already played against the top 2 defenses in the BCS, losing to #1 Alabama and beating #2 Temple. Coming up is #17 Illinois, #13 Ohio State and Penn State finishes the regular season at #3 Wisconsin. If PSU were to win enough to take their Big 10 Division the Big 10 Championship Game would be most likely against Michigan State #4 in defense.

Nebraska 5-1 (1-1 Big 10) does not quite get it, they are ranked #68 in defense, which will not cut it in the Big 10. They lost to #3 Wisconsin, beat #13 Ohio State and have #4 Michigan State, #6 Penn State and #9 Michigan. They will lose 2 out of those 3 to the defense.

Any channel switching tonight will be to see Wisconsin - Michigan State.

Lest we forget the battle between the only two remaining undefeated teams in hockey. Capitals v Red Wings is gonna be a barn burner for certain. Just like the Cheezits v Spartys is the unofficial Big 10 Championship game.

Meanwhile, in the background - Go Get 'Em Cards!

I'd better check the batteries in my remote.

They don't need specific jinxing in order to flap somewhere in the wind, as I do wish upon them. They list right up there with Ohio St in my book of "anybody but them" in the Big 10.

Did Not Expect A Shootout Tonight, PSU 34 NU 24

The first half was a shootout, in the second half Penn State shut them out.

And the food was fantastic. My nephew decided to go Polish, kielbasa, 4 other types of sausage, haluski and potatoes in a sausage casing that I canot pronounce or spell.

Too bad the Caps were on the outside with the accelerant and the Wings were trapped in the burning barn 😉

Angel, I Checked It When I Got Home...

The score was 9-6 and the sixth inning was just starting.

"Goodnight Irene," I said and went to bed.

That 16-7 final had more points than Penn State Iowa at 13-3 and almost as many as Penn State Temple 14-10 and Penn State Indiana 16-10.

In any case the Cards have at least one win in Texas so they have a chance of winning it at home or coming home champions.

Exactly my thoughts. I would prefer to see them win it at home, though. Heck, if they manage to get back home, *I* may try to find a way to St. Louis so I can celebrate with other fellow Card fans! Apparently they have a huge big screen TV outside of Busch stadium for fans...for free!! I would pee my pants just to be there!! heehhe 🙂
