Maybe I'm just getting too old to play baseball.
I made several stabbing dives being the unstoppable short-stop I always tried to be.
They always says that things don't hurt the next day. It's the second day when the hurt kicks in. Yep, no joke there.
I'd go back out and play if it wasn't getting dark out.

Went to the 40th reunion of our State Title team event at opening day and found out the same in 2011. Half the team did show and it was a great day for baseball, pot luck soup and hitting a few. Too much had changed for me to fully be involved in a real game.
I guess that means you won't be going to a comedy factory anytime soon. 😉
Once upon a time I worked at a place with our own so-called hospital. It was really a couple of nurses, an administrator trained in all sorts of medical areas and an on-call doctor who was supposed to be present in under 10 minutes from his regular office. During summertime, the place would be full nearly every Monday morning with weekend injuries suffered at softball games, fishing tournaments and such, plus severe cases of poison ivy and too much sun.
