:rain: 28 continous days of rain. Five day forecast is for rain every day. The last cloud free day was April 20. I say it is going to keep raining until it turns to snow.

Geese are forming up, and flying around in V's and it is not the middle of August. Fireweed blossoms are at the top of the plant. Old timer's clues to an early winter. I go to Barrow on the 25th, better find my arctic gear. Crews are working fast as they say the highs are in the mid-30's with wind across the polar ice and water....... oh fun...

I do have tickets for flyfishing for bonefish and GTs in Hawaii in November. Lots of fishing in front of that though.

Gosh, Northern, you're breaking records there in August that we break here in like...January!! :-O

HAWAII!! That will be a welcome relief for you come November. I am jealous!! I keep hinting to Wendell to go there in September but I don't think it's working. 😛

I keep reminding him of the delicious fish & food there, how cheap the flights are, we can pitch a tent, etc... but...it's not working. 🙁

Seriously though, if we had the $$ we would probably go but right not that just isn't feasible. However, if my lotto tickets would hit a nice jackpot I'd be on the next plane out!! :good:

In the meantime I'll have to settle for pics of our last trip. Here's a few for good karma.

I recognize Waikiki beach there and the two condo towers - my mom had an aunt & uncle that retired to Oahu and I got to spend a week there in the early 90's (in one of those condo towers). Great pics!

Thanks!! I took probably over 200+ pics the week we were there, plus many videos. I just LOVED it there and cannot wait to go back. I'd live there but Wendell isn't a tropical type of person. I'd like to go to all of the islands if it was possible!!

Oh I'd be a tropical person in a minute! My wife & I honeymooned in Kauia - quite a bit different than Oahu (the Honolulu side awayways). I think what would drive me crazy after awhile would be the sheer disconnect from the mainland US (especially during football season!). Seemed like alot of S. Cali transplants on the islands too.

Hello, one of them would be me. We generally spell Kauai "K A U A I" but you got the rural part right. We go to Oahu for the "city life" when we need to...
