In less than three weeks I'll be making my way to Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia for the National Boy Scout Jamboree. I'll be part of the part-time day staff for a couple days helping some scouts earn their Surveying Merit Badge. Sould be a good time and I'm really looking forward to it.

In addition, our (wife & I) vacation will have planned overnight stops in Lexington, KY; Charlottesville, Fredericksburg & Lynchburg, VA; and Memphis, TN.

If you know of any good places for dinner (some local favorites?) or of any possible road construction delays we should be aware of, then please post or email me. Thanks.

Dan when you are traveling through Tenn., if you have time take a side trip to Lynchburg Tenn. and visit the Jack Daniels Distilery. It is worth the trip.😛

It sounds like you have your itinerary set, but when you are in C'ville let me know if you'd like my $0.29 tour. Monticello, the Rotunda at UVa, Skyline Drive, and either Luray or Grand Caverns. And since you are a war buff, new Market Battlefield.

I saw the Jack Daniels tour last year, but I thought the George Dickel tour was much better. And it's only about 20 minutes from the Jack tour. Very easily done.

Hayes Instrument is only about a half an hour from them too in Shelbyville.
