We have eight games in the books and the pack is pretty tight. One with 5 wins, four with 4 wins and seven of us with 3 wins. It's looking more like a NASCAR race with a lot of drafting going on right now than a pick'em game.
I'm loading up to head to the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on Wednesday night and hope that my Pokes can beat Arizona. On paper we look like the much better team but there is a reason they play the games so anything can happen.
I'm doing my normal thing though and carrying an OSU talisman to give to one of the opposing teams fans. This year it's a carving of our mascot Pistol Pete on a pecan. The giving of these is a tradition with me and I will give this to someone from the Arizona crowd who shows good sportsmanship. It could be at our motel or at the game but the token from me is a sign of our Pokes sportsmanship towards other teams.
Looking forward to the trip and the sight seeing around San Antonio for a few days. Nice digs at the Westin Riverwalk so most things are within walking distance.
May your teams all win their bowl games and GO POKES!
Sounds like fun. However the only words in their that got my attention were NASCAR, race, drafting, pecan, Westin (only because of the downtown Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel) and Pistol Pete on account of Pistol Pete Maravich.
Have fun!
D,
Have fun man, Even though I am a Pac-10 fan and typically root for those teams, I'd really like to see your boys kick the sh:)t out of AZ. I wish they would have beat OU because they definitely looked like the better team all year IMHO.
Thanks Jered. OU stumbled a lot at the first of the year but they have tons of talent and solid coaching. They beat us heads up so I give them props on that. I think they will literally destroy UCONN in their game. OU got screwed on the bowl choices and I hear that they can't give away the tickets. I wish they had played LSU or some SEC team as that would have been a more inviting game for travelers and a national TV audience.
With Arizona then we have our second Stoops of the year. Hopefully we will prevail but I'm looking forward to a fun game and a nice little mini vacation with my cute little lady from an attorney's office.
