Rangers take game 1 from the Rays...

But the big story is the Phillies' Roy Halladay throwing a no-hitter in game 1 to win 4-0 over the Reds.

This is the 2nd no-hitter in the post-season ever and it was his first career post-season start.

The first no-hitter was actually a Perfect Game by Don Larson for the Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1956 World Series.

Halladay is also only the 5th pitcher to throw two no-hitters in the same year as he threw a perfect game on May 29, 2010. The others are Nolan Ryan (1973), Virgil Trucks (1952), Allie Reynolds (1951) and John Vander Meer (1938). Vander Meer's 2 no-hitters are famous for coming in two consecutive starts.

I was waiting to hear from the first to mention all that.
I saw the final inning. He would have the "perfect game" had he not walked that 1 batter. I don't mind seeing history made.... but dang... the Phillies. I'm in Braves country hard-core for over 27 years. The Phillies are well disliked here.
Tomorrow night we'll see what the Braves do after getting their wildcard ticket.
I'm rooting for the Reds to get the Phillies out.
As for my Braves, I just wish they Chipper in the line-up.

Phillies are hot this year...they clobbered my team!! 🙁

Here's an article on todays no-hitter. My team needs to get that pitcher!!

I dunno, E. Bravey boys got some tough competition ahead of them. But they can do it if they believe in themselves.

Just as long as the Crankies do NOT win the ALCS or WS, I'll be thrilled. ANY team but the Yankmees!!! 😐
