Down 24-0 Auburn kicked it in gear then had to hang on to beat Alabama 28-27.

Had it been the other way around they are still a much better team than the Poor Sisters from the West.

The 2nd half of that game was the first time Auburn has needed to actually field a defense all year. A one-point win over a 3-loss team..... Ermmmmh, I guess that's a SEC signature win for Scam Newton. Sort of.

Oregon Ducks are in a shoot-out with Arizona, and the Quack-Attack is looking vulnerable so far. The much hated BSU Broncos will test their mettle versus Krazy-legs Kaepernick and #20 Nevada coming up later. Let's hide and watch, and see who emerges as the best QB in that game, eh?

More news at eleven (Pacific time). College football fans in Pennsyltucky may have to wait until breakfast to get the word.

TCU Horned Frog fans are glued to their froggie TV's tonight, I guar-on-damn-tee.

War: Auburn vs Boise for the mythical National Championship. Remember where you heard it first.

Looks Like Oregon Has Taken Care Of Business, 48-29

Up 48-22 with 12 minutes to go. Arizona needs 4 unanswered touchdowns to come back. I don't think so.

You're up next, Bill.

A much, much better match up would be Auburn and Oregon. Is that even possible with the vagaries of the system?

I was the only Auburn fan in a house full of Bama fans, got mighty quiet in the second half.

Humble Pie

is a mighty thin diet, and I'm having a big serving of it today. Even Paul has to feel sorry for that Boise field goal kicker. Two chances for a chipshot walk-off field goal, and missed them both. Credit to Nevada- they played well.

What time does the TCU bandwagon roll by? I'm jumping on.

Bill ?

If you're not playing a football team that has a decent chance to beat you, what is the point?

If the coach or fans put a loss on just one person, then that has to be the coach. He gets paid very well to win, the student athletes are not. That kicker should feel much worse if he flunks his calculus final.

The announcers during the Penn State game were trying to figure out how many million dollars flew out the window last night. Dollars that would have also gone into Nevada's pocket.

Neither Coach Pete nor anybody else at BSU is putting any blame for that loss on Kyle Brotzman (the kicker). Taking great pains to support him in fact. There were many other plays in the game which could have made the difference between a win or a loss. Coach Pete is not going to throw his kicker under the bus like Tedford did at Cal a couple weeks ago.

According to some of the football pundits, BSU potentially lost $13M on the outcome of that game, not to mention giving the naysayers plenty of ammunition. They are still a very very good football team.
