Yep. Just got that exact same one at Quux Software.
Looks like somebody is searching the web for any company with a website that mentions surveying, and sending them that email.
The other big one looks something like this:

First,I will like to know that you accept credit card. Also ,I want you to advice on the Do you ship via (DHL/UPS/FedEx ) for shipment to ( Fort Worth, TX 76119) I await your response.

Maybe somebody's been selling a package on "How to get rich quick on the internet - sample email templates included".
I seem to remember deleting something similar a few months ago.
Now if I could just get the Nigerian Geodetic Survey to lay off the emails offering me a treasure trove of 127,000,000 coordinates....
No. What amazes me is the number of surveyors and engineers do not have any
idea what their spam guards do?
Many are set to trash all e-mails with attachments. I see surveyors at the
chapter meeting who almost start to cry claiming they didn't get my e-mail
about a job in their area.
Yep, Sinc. I got that one earlier in the week. You don't reckon it's a scam do you?;-)
about three times a week....sure wish I sold surveying equipment! hahaha, yeah, right!
My first thought is hit the SPAM option and "poof" it is gone....
It gets worse than that guys.
Several years ago we got an order for 50 copies of Black's Law Dictionary. The Ship To address was in Africa so we smelled a rat right away. But, how can one be sure it wasn't a legitimate order?
These folks even included a credit card # with the order. Before we charged the card we called the bank. They checked with the bank that issued the card. Turns out the mailing address we got with the order was valid and matched that card. The bank indicated if we charged the card they would approve the charge. Everything seemed legit.
Still, something didn't seem right. So we did a bit of research. These same folks had ordered a bunch of books from a pharmaceutical trade magazine. Just like us, they called the bank and after assurances everything was legit, filled the order.
Turns out, the holder of the card never paid a penny of any charge. They used the card to place large orders and then disputed every charge. In the end, they paid nothing to the CC Company and the CC Company removed the payment from the merchant's bank account.
Part of me wants to blame the scammer in a deal like this. Certainly the deserve plenty of scorn for being thieves. But the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the folks at the bank who assured us this was a real person in good standing with the bank should be held accountable. The bank either knew or should have known what was going on with the account. The bank obviously didn't care to tell us the truth because either way, they were going to collect their percent right off the top. The bank made money, the thieves made money and the merchant was left holding the bag.
Fortunately for us, we didn't get caught, but it would have been easy enough to trust the word of that bank.
Y'all be careful out there.

They are still doing this today as well. Larry is right. They do a charge back once they get the merchandise. SCAMS!! There's a bunch of these scams going on right now that are being reported on FlakeList.
Feel free to report ANY of those emails you get to FlakeList as well. 🙂
