I suppose this works on ground hornets as well, but I wouldn't recommend it.
any idea what was underground that caused that??
He poured gas down the ant hole, waited a couple minutes before touching it off.

Umm....yeah. Yikes!!!!!!!!!! :envy: ?ÿ
Is it as effective on uncles as it is on ants?
Dude sure destroyed his backyard.
For many years I have kept fireants underground using various granular products.
After all of last spring's rains, there are 4 holes in my yard about 1ft in diameter and 5ft deep where their major nests once were. The waters from the torrential rains flushed many of the ants and the loose soil in the nests downstream
The next product I am going with is Fire Ant Killer granules by Ortho. I don't know if it is the same orthene that was banned in the liquid form. It was the best poison I've ever encountered for use as it would kill every insect from ant to hornet immediately. I would put 1/2 ounce in a 3gal sprayer and put on my yard and the neighbors' dogs and cats would not even come into my yard.

Those beagles sure got a fright.
There must have been a big hole down there to accumulate enough gasoline vapor for that explosion.?ÿ Liquid doesnt do that.
Neither the dogs nor the homeowner will need to poop again for three days.
