Nothing new really. 2-mile to the "beach". Well.. I did actually get "feet wet" this time as they say in the teams.
Didn't have any fins, a k-bar nor snorkel and mask but I headed out anyhow. (not that I need any). 100 yards out to the no-swim-past-here buoys and hang around a bit and head back in. I figured that was enough since I'd been since around 0500 hours and haven't done any "serious" swimming in decades. Plus I had no swim-buddy should things go awry. No worries... except for that dam lake stinks when you get in it and then out.
Oh! then the excitement as I'm leaving... a wedding party is fixing to happen. I just happen to amble by the bride and her maids. I just had to say something.... nope.... I offer my hand, palm up, to the bride and kiss the back of her hand. Wished her the best of luck and ambled on with nary more a word.
Perhaps it was the fish smell all about me, but I have never been to a wedding when I didn't go home alone. Now that I say that, I'm about half-way to the house on the hoof and a buddy picks me up. I ain't gonna count that so call me 0.9999 on the wedding scores (not that I'm ever looking for it)
Apparently I do mighty well in a tux than Lake Acworth fish stink.
ah well... least I got a nasty to go swim should I feel the urge.

... and another fun story.
Thanks, Eric

What would be really fun is I had a "BigE helmet cam" strapped on replete with audio. Baseball cap cam would be better suited to me since I'm rarely without one. I probably leave out or simply forget most of the details of my travails. Embellishments: nay. (don't need to)
My buddy, Bradley, that picked me up on the way back thought I was all full of BS. My neighbor, Ronnie who works at parks & rec, saw me there and could vouch for it. Although he didn't see me kiss the bride's hand. A "BigE cam" sure would have.
Another adventure almost happened later last night. No one was sober enough to come get me. No problem. Been there at that place hundreds of times already and got plenty of stories to tell about that. Plenty! Some not so fond but most are.
