The story below is interesting by itself. However, what they don't mention is that the plumbers were working with a backhoe and trying to tear into a sewer with a problem. It turned out the sewer line was several feet below the floor of the cavern found. It must have been installed using horizontal drilling equipment or everyone would have already known about the "secret" beer storage cavern. The report I found earlier indicated the brewer had underground storage for 5000 barrels of beer.
