Afraid to fly, but like planes? No problem, take the train! Three fuselages were on a westbound BNSF train near Cairo, Nebraska on September 2, 2010.

Jerry

I had passed along your Today Show link and links to your Nebraska Air Crash website to some friends. One of them emailed back saying they think there was a crash site of a WWII plane near Carson, Iowa, (western Iowa) during that time period.

I wouldn't fly from here to my monitor. I flew around enough while in the 'regular' NAV. Too many planes crash for my tastes. Besides, one can get to anywhere in the world they want to be by car, bus, train or boat. All of them can "crash", but the odds of surviving a 'plane crash' just aren't very good, thank you.

(yes, I'm afraid to fly...:-) )

Take care,
Ed

I just found out today my first wife's cousin (who I was good friends with) is now a hang gliding instructor up in NW GA living near Lookout Mtn. I always wanted to learn to hang glide once upon a time.

I have zero fear of flying and might be interested in trying hang gliding still. However these days I have a serious problem with heights above 1 story. I'm afraid I might get several hundred feet airborne and then vapor lock. Being strapped in a hang glider and vapor locking isn't like doing the same on a cliff where high-angle rescue can come get you.
Shoot I get vertigo watching others get up in serious high places.

Boeing ships a lot of stuff by rail. My guess is they are being shipped to(from?) the Kansas plant.

They also have these semi trailers that have a guy sitting in a little car in the back wheels, steering! How would you like that job?

No. But I do not intend to take a commercial flight anytime in the near future. Do not want to put up the ridiculous regs and definitely not the TSA people. I am way too likely to bounce one or two on their butts for assaulting me.

Putting a hand on someone without their permission is assault.
