"contact an engineer"

I think that is the absolutely best advice in my neighborhood, since I am a licensed professional engineer as well as a licensed land surveyor. That would eliminate all of the competition for about 70 miles except for a friend of mine.

"While there's plenty of advice online about how to draw your own survey, most HOAs and organizations requesting one will want to see a professional version."

There is also some great information online about rocket science. I wonder if my HOA would need a professional to sign off on the launch in the cul-de-sac.:-D

The bad news is that simple residential surveys can cost from $250 to $1,000.

That is bad news for surveyors.

The good news is that simple residential surveys should cost more than Fox News states.
