A friend sent me this link to a map that shows lightning strikes in near real time around the world.?ÿ They have a network of volunteers who link a sensor unit to the internet and the data is collected for display and study.?ÿ This ought to be interesting next time a storm moves through here.

A few days ago that would have showed my local area lighting up the screen for most of the day and night.
