Jameson was fussy last night, trying to rock him to sleep (in a rocking chair not the other way, have to say that to a group of surveyors LOL). Probably cutting a tooth. Pain plus tired cries plus yawns plus rubbing the eyes.

I found some Nat King Cole on YouTube (wow we didn't have resources like this back in the 80s). Something about his voice zonked that kid right out. 🙂

Our best plan was to load the kid in the car and head out for a drive.....anywhere. Boom, sound asleep.

Yes I do remember Nature Boy having that effect.
swmbo liked Enya to play to him. Shepherd's Moon in particular
Also there was a radio program out of SF called Hearts of Space on Sunday's here that was very effective.

..it can get addictive; reminds me of a cousin who found himself having to go for a drive every night. He used the car to put his two infants to sleep for a few days and had a hard time weaning them out of it.
Years later, to save me from a similar fate, my mum would warn me not to take mine out on consecutive days.

My middle child was the fussy one. As an alternative to the late night drive, we used to put the baby in a clothes basket filled with fresh laundry and then place the basket on top of the dryer. The hum of the motor and the vibration would knock her right out. Important note: Put baby ON TOP of dryer....never inside:-P
